New Hope Community Services receives ASEAN Outstanding Social Welfare and Development Award (AOSWADA)

Life’s Good Deeds Initiative Brings Air Purifiers and Dehumidifiers to Local Non-Profit Organisations

SINGAPORE, 27 Aug 2025 — New Hope Community Services (New Hope CS) has been nominated by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) to receive the ASEAN Outstanding Social Welfare and Development Award (AOSWADA) in the NGOs/CSOs category. The award was presented on 27 August 2025, during an Awarding Ceremony that was held via virtual conference. Mr Lim Bak Chim, CEO of New Hope Community Services, participated in the award ceremony virtually.
 
The AOSWADA, given by ASEAN, aims to recognise NGOs/CSOs and private sector corporations in the field of social welfare and development. Given out annually, this year's AOSWADA would be its 3rd edition, and the award's objectives are to:

• Acknowledge and recognise the roles, outstanding achievements and contributions of non-government organisations, civil society organisations (NGOs/CSOs), and the private sector in the ASEAN member states to the social welfare and development.
• Encourage the NGOs/CSOs, and the private sector to continue and strengthen their work and contributions to the social welfare and development in their respective country
• Promote closer cooperation and partnerships between the government, NGOs/CSOs, and the private sector in each respective country; and
• Promote ASEAN awareness amongst the NGOs/CSOs, and the private sector, and encourage their active and meaningful engagements in the ASEAN Community-building process.

Each ASEAN Member State nominates one NGO/CSO and one private sector corporation to receive the award. For Singapore, New Hope CS was selected by an MSF panel based on a set of evaluation criteria.
